Arsenal issue Thomas Partey contract update as club releases five first-team players



 

  • Arsenal have announced that 20 players will leave the club this month upon the expiry of their contracts
  • Jorginho will join Brazilian side Flamengo, while Raheem Sterling has been sent back to Chelsea after an unsuccessful loan spell
  • The club has also issued an update on Thomas Partey, whose current deal expires at the end of the month

Arsenal have released a total of 20 players as they begin their summer rebuild for the 2025/2026 season in earnest.

How countries responded to Trump's travel ban

US President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation banning travel to the US from nationals of 12 countries, which goes into effect on 9 June. The countries listed are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Nationals from a further seven countries - Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela - will face partial travel restrictions.
